Activate two-factor authentication to keep your Zenvia Platform account safe and secure.
What is two-factor authentication and why is it important?
Two-factor authentication is a security method that verifies your identity before allowing access to your account. This verification happens in two steps: first, you enter your password; then, you use a second security factor. On the Zenvia Platform, this can be done through an authenticator app or via SMS. Both options generate a unique code that you enter during login.
Adding this extra layer of security:
- Significantly reduces the risks of account breaches or phishing attempts, as it makes unauthorized access by attackers more difficult;
- Protects against unauthorized access, because even if your password is compromised, the attacker would need the second factor to access your account.
How to set up two-factor authentication
To activate two-factor authentication:
- Log in to app.zenvia.com using your Zenvia Platform account credentials;
- Navigate to the Customer Area from the homepage. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen, then select Customer Area;
- Access the Security tab:
- To enable two-factor authentication, click on the Two-Factor Authentication button, follow the on-screen instructions, and click Activate.
- If you already have an authentication method set up, the Two-Factor Authentication button will be disabled.
- You will be redirected to the login screen and will need to log in to your account again;
- Choose your authentication method: Google Authenticator or similar app or SMS.
Activating via authenticator app
When using Google Authenticator or a similar app, follow these steps:
- Open the authentication app on your mobile device;
- Follow the app's instructions to add a new account. Learn how to get verification codes with Google Authenticator;
- Scan the QR code displayed on the Zenvia Platform screen and enter the security key;
- Enter the generated code on the Zenvia Platform login screen;
- Click Continue.
💡 Tip: Check de available authenticator apps:
-
Authy (Google Play/App Store).
-
Google Authenticator (Google Play/App Store).
-
Auth0 Guardian (Google Play/App Store).
-
Microsoft Authenticator (Google Play/App Store)
⚠️ Attention: Do not delete the app from your device, as the code may be required every 14 days for additional security, when IP changes occur, or when modifying the account administrator.
By doing this, when accessing Zenvia solutions, you'll enter both your login credentials and the code generated by the authenticator app to enhance the security of your account.
Activating via SMS
To activate via SMS:
- Select the SMS option;
- Choose your country's international code, enter your phone number including the area code, and click Continue;
- You'll receive a six-digit code via SMS on the provided mobile phone;
- Enter the received code in the designated field and click Continue.
By doing this, when accessing Zenvia solutions, you'll enter both your login credentials and the code sent via SMS to enhance the security of your account.
Alternative email authentication
If you are having trouble authenticating your account through an authenticator app or SMS, you can use email to authenticate your future logins. This provides flexibility while maintaining the security of your access.
⚠️ Attention: For the first access to the platform, it is necessary to activate one of the authentication methods (authenticator app or SMS). After this, on subsequent accesses, you can use the registered email as an authentication method.
To use email as an authentication method:
- Log in using your email and password;
- On the identity verification screen, select Try another method;
- Choose the Email option. You will receive an email with a 6-digit code;
- Enter the received code in the Insert code field to complete the process.
Done! Now you know how to keep your account safe and protected on Zenvia.
